Ndorani, scientifically know as Elephantorrhiza Elephantina, is produced from the roots of the Elephantorrhiza Elephantina plant. The root is cooked in water, sliced then dried. When adequately dry, the sliced pieces are milled and sifted to produce a powdered product. 
 
Scientific studies on Elephantorrhiza Elephantina indicate that it has a wide range of biological activities including anthelmintic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive, antiplasmodial, antioxidant, antibabesial, and antirickettsial activities. 
 
Ndorani/Intolwane is used in southern Africa as traditional remedy for a wide range of human diseases and ailments including dermatological diseases, gastrointestinal system disorders, sexual dysfunction, sexually transmitted infections, and wounds. It is also used by women to keep their physical body temperature warm/hot such that when a man touches them or lies next to them they easily get aroused.
